The historic building's architecture is stunning and full of character.
The carpets in the hallways were heavily stained, contributing to an overall feeling of neglect.

great for weekend strolls near eateries and attractions
I loved being just a few steps away from Selfieville and the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail, making it super easy to explore and soak in the beautiful coastal views. the choice of restaurants nearby, like Rosine's and Plumes Coffee House, really added to the convenience of dining choices during my stay. As a solo traveler, the comfortable room was a nice bonus after a long day of walking and discovering the city, but I did notice that the carpets in the hallways could use a little attention.

Charming, historic vibe with fantastic sunlight. Perfect spot for snapping pics and easy to explore nearby attractions.
If that was an upgrade, I’d hate to see the downgrade—hardly any sleep thanks to street noise!
